A journey is defined as “an act of traveling from one place to another.”
How fitting a label for our Soldiers and Families who are journeying adventurously through permanent change of station moves and deployments wherever the Army says go.
I suspect when traveling or on temporary duty you live out of your luggage and try to find what you need one day at a time.
Soldiers are all too familiar with this phenomenon of going through their duffle bags during field exercises and Joint Readiness Training or National Training Center rotations. They seem to forget the inconvenience and are willing to dig through their duffle bags desperate to find their uniforms and tools.
What makes our Soldiers adapt to such temporary conditions?
In my opinion, it is because every Soldier does the same thing without exception. Therefore, Soldiers tolerate living out of their duffle bags knowing that returning home is not far away.
Participating in activities together makes our journey that much easier.
Neena Gupta wrote: “Life really can be a long journey with many ups and downs, but if the one you love supports you and holds your hand while walking with you on these curvy roads, then this journey of life will become even more beautiful and even more interesting.”
And in Philippians 2:4 you will find: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Journeying together with others will enhance your journey creating opportunities to not only encourage one another but to deepen your relationships and make new friendships.
Did you know that there are many rewarding ministries at Fort Campbell where you can meet people to encourage each other, share life, grow together and pray for each other as you navigate through your life journey?
One such ministry is Protestant Women of the Chapel. PWOC, along with other ministries and chapel services, offers rewarding support to women. PWOC’s motto for the upcoming year is “Endeavor Together” from Acts 2:42. The benefits do not end with women, it will benefit Families and communities from the support these women have gained and built.
