Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role they have played in the history of the United States. Scheduled Fort Campbell observance displays will be conducted by separate brigades as follows:

•Feb. 21: 5th Special Forces Group and 101st Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Oasis Dining Facility, 2991 Indiana Ave.

•Feb. 22: 3rd Brigade Combat Team and 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade/3rd Brigade Combat Team dining facility, 6755 A Shau Valley Road.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES

The American Red Cross is having blood drives through Feb. 28 because of the severe winter weather canceling previous opportunities.

TEEN PALOOZA

ACS Family Advocacy Program is having a Teen Palooza program for grades 6-12 from 2- 5 p.m. Feb. 24 at Taylor Youth Center. The event is free. Topics will include healthy communication, pressures of drug and alcohol, texting and cyber bullying, healthy dating tips, tackling stress, anger and suicide prevention. SWIM LESSONS

Clarksville Parks and Recreation offers five American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels of swimming instructions that teach participants how to swim skillfully and safely. Two-week sessions are held Monday-Thursday at New Providence Swimming Pool, 166 Cunningham Lane. Remaining sessions include, April 2-12. The fee is $40. ATHOC REGISTRATION

Fort Campbell Emergency Operations Center’s AtHoc system delivers notifications via email, text, phone calls and social media about severe weather and other emergencies. EOC officials strongly encourage people to register for AtHoc to be alerted of emergency situations. In the Fort Campbell portal, located on the installation’s Intranet home page, users who have not yet registered with the AtHoc system will see a pop-up notification. Once the user clicks on the notification, a series of slides will be made available to walk the user through the registration process, ensuring that setup is quick, easy and accurate. While registration requires a CAC, Family members may also be added to the system by the CAC holder. Registration for the mass-notification system is a pertinent step in ensuring the safety of the entire installation.

SOCIAL MEDIA IMPERSONATION

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command warns that scammers are claiming online to be U.S. Soldiers. Unbeknown to the Soldier, an online scammer uses the Soldier’s name and available social media photos to perpetrate a crime. Online scammers also are impersonating Army civilians and contractors. Scammer capitalize on the trustworthy reputation of individuals associated with the Army. By monitoring your social media identity, you can protect your Army Family and your reputation. S.A.F.E. CAMPAIGN

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office announces its fifth annual Seatbelts Are For Everyone campaign. This statewide initiative is designed to increase seatbelt and child passenger safety restrain usage through implementation of occupant-protection programs, public events and checkpoints throughout local communities across Tennessee. ABANDONED VEHICLES AND MWR OPEN BID AUCTION

Morale, Welfare and Recreation will hold an open bid auction for abandoned vehicles and MWR equipment at 9 a.m. March 17. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Deadline to pick up purchases is 3 p.m. the day of the auction. The MWR equipment that will be auctioned has been deemed in excess, to be unusable, or no longer cost effective to maintain. This equipment will be sold in “as is” condition and there is no warranty or guarantee. Everyone must have cash or a credit card and be at least 18 years of age to receive a paddle for bidding and to place a bid. For vehicles – must be prepared to pay at least 50 percent of the winning bid on the day of the auction. Items requiring titling can be picked up between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. March 21-23 and March 26-30 – after balance is paid in full. For items that don’t require titling – must be prepared to pay in full on the day of the auction and items can be picked up on the day of the auction. No one under the age of 12 will be allowed to attend. Please do not bring babies, toddlers, strollers, carriers, and pets. Fort Campbell Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program offers a Relationship 101 Workshop 9-11:30 a.m. or 1-3:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at ACS, 2601 Indiana Ave. The workshop equips participants with relationship skills that include techniques and resources for emotional self-regulation. Even the strongest relationships have disagreements, but when emotions get high, effective communication stops and the ability to resolve conflict decreases. MONTHLY STEEL SHOOTING MATCH

There will be a steel shooting match the first Saturday of each month at Range 16. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and a safety briefing at 9 a.m. The events are open to ages 13 and older.
