ROAD CLOSURES

A portion of South Carolina road is closed for road repairs. The contractor will be excavating to replace a culvert north of 20th Street. The only area that will be blocked off is the immediate area around the excavation. The entire roadway will be shut down April 21 for complete subgrade repair. Paving, with single lane closures, will start Monday and should be complete Tuesday.

Carantan Road is closed for road repairs. Work is projected to be complete tby April 30. There will be no detour for this project and Gate 2 will be closed throughout the duration of this project.

COURT-MARTIAL

A private was recently convicted at a court-martial of one specification of conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs, four specifications of using, possessing and distributing illegal drugs, one specification of absent without leave and one specification of desertion. He was sentenced to forfeiture of all pay and allowances, reduction to E-1, nine months confinement and to receive a bad conduct discharge.

ARBOR DAY

Staff from the Directorate of Public Works, environmental division, forestry section will host an Arbor Day observance 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday behind the Guenette Arts and Crafts Center, 89 Screaming Eagle Blvd. Foresters will be on site to answer questions and will give away bare root oak, red bud and dogwood seedlings. ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY ELIGIBILITY SURVEY

The Army has been asked by Congress to consider what might be done to preserve Arlington National Cemetery as an active military cemetery well into the future for generations to come. Based on current eligibility standards, Arlington National Cemetery will run out of space in approximately 23 years and at that time will no longer be an active cemetery. Decision-makers seek feedback from stakeholders through a survey where they can share their opinions about eligibility for burial in Arlington National Cemetery. SEASONAL TRANSITION FROM HEATING TO COOLING

BECOME A CID SPECIAL AGENT

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command is seeking first lieutenants and captains, from all military occupational specialties, interested in becoming CID Special Agents to submit applications to transition to a CID Special Agent warrant officer. MILPER Message No. 18-054, Officer Application Requirements for Appointment to CID Warrant Officer, outlines the specifics of the program. Applications will be accepted through May 18. Approved applications will be considered by the warrant officer accession board that convenes in July, so qualified applicants are encouraged to visit the closest regular Army CID office to start the process. A Police background is not a requirement to qualify to be accepted into this specialized program. In addition to the CID Agent application, qualified officers must also prepare a warrant officer application. PROJECT CLEAN STREAMS 2018

The staff of the Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division-Stormwater Program will host Project Clean Streams 8:30 a.m.-noon April 27 at Wohali Pavilion at Lake Taal. The day will be filled with Family fun as volunteers help to clean trash and debris along the banks of Fort Campbell’s lakes and streams. This beautification project is aimed to make Fort Campbell’s waterways cleaner, safer and to reduce the adverse impact pollution has on water quality. ATHOC REGISTRATION

Fort Campbell Emergency Operations Center’s AtHoc system delivers notifications via email, text, phone calls and social media about severe weather and other emergencies. EOC officials strongly encourage people to register for AtHoc to be alerted of emergency situations. In the Fort Campbell portal, located on the installations’ Intranet home page, users who have not yet registered with the AtHoc system will see a pop-up notification. Once the user clicks on the notification, a series of slides will be made available to walk the user through the registration process, ensuring that setup is quick, easy and accurate. While registration requires a CAC, Family members may also be added to the system by the CAC holder. Registration for the mass-notification system is a pertinent step in ensuring the safety of the entire installation.

SOCIAL MEDIA IMPERSONATION

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command warns that scammers are claiming online to be U.S. Soldiers. Unbeknown to the Soldier, an online scammer uses the Soldier’s name and available social media photos to perpetrate a crime. Online scammers also are impersonating Army civilians and contractors.
