A mobile training team from the 101st Airborne Division’s Sabalauski Air Assault School administered the training at the U.S. Military Academy with flight support from the New Jersey National Guard. Sgt. Cristobal Martinez, assigned to TSAAS, served as the rappel master in the aircraft. His responsibility was to ensure the cadets were safe as they rappelled and he properly rigged all of the rappelling equipment.
Sgt Reginal Allison, assigned to TSAAS, served as the belay control and he ensured that the cadets responded appropriately in the event of a falling rappeller. The purpose of providing air assault training to cadet is to provide them with the skills and knowledge required to be competent in the conduct of combat air assault operations, a vital part of U.S. military operations worldwide.
